Avatar Deleted Scenes

Many of you who had been following Avatar from the beginning would have realised that the final movie did not have any of the earth scenes that were seen in the trailers. I was left wondering myself, until a few articles came up online explaining the rationale of removing them. Here are some of the known reasons:
1. Cameron wanted to go straight into the story, it was basically the “Director’s cut” and not “Fan cut”. These scenes will be later added into the DVD/Blu-ray release.
2. IMAX limitation disallowed up to 12 mins of these deleted scenes.
